About This Role
This is a specialised evaluation and prompt engineering role, not a standard finance position. You will build and audit complex financial training datasets that test whether AI models can perform professional-grade financial work, and document exactly where and why they fail.
What You Will Do
- Select a domain focus, Fixed Income Research or Quantitative Finance, and target one of two failure modes: Financial Methodology and Logic, or Data Extraction and Parsing
- Source and validate two to three PDF documents, annual reports, bond prospectuses, debt schedules, collateral tables, or option grids, meeting strict complexity and length thresholds
- Engineer analyst-grade prompts with cascading calculation steps, instruction-conflicting definitions, and explicit constraints designed to expose specific model weaknesses
- Manually solve each task in full before the model sees the prompt, building the gold-standard answer key every response is graded against
- Run each prompt against the model exactly once, then compare the response step by step against your independent solution to find the exact point of divergence
- Write precise failure narratives covering the error type, its trigger, the correct treatment, and the downstream financial impact
- Feed every documented failure back into the next round of domain selection and prompt design, closing the loop in a continuous improvement cycle
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- 5+ years of practitioner-level experience in Fixed Income Research or Quantitative Finance, able to solve complex, multi-step financial problems without relying on a model
- Professional experience with AI training data, LLM evaluation, or prompt engineering, this is a mandatory requirement, not a nice to have
- Ability to identify precisely where and why an AI model would misapply financial logic or misread a source document
- Strong analytical writing skills, able to document a model failure in three to four precise lines covering error type, trigger, correct treatment, and downstream impact
- Comfort working independently across dense financial source documents, including footnotes, appendices, and secondary disclosures
What Will Give You an Edge
- Prior exposure to Investment Banking or FP&A use cases, in addition to Fixed Income or Quantitative Finance
- Experience designing adversarial or stress-test style prompts for large language models
- A track record of precise, structured technical writing under strict format and length constraints
What Qfyre Offers
- A fully remote engagement with flexibility built into how you structure your working hours
- Direct contribution to AI model evaluation and training data used in enterprise-grade financial AI systems
- Competitive compensation benchmarked to specialist financial and AI evaluation expertise
- Work reviewed and mentored by domain specialists, not automated screening
